It’s inevitable that fine jewelry will lose some of that luster or fall out of fashion over time. However, that doesn’t mean you have to keep buying new pieces while leaving your old favorites neglected in a far corner of the jewelry box.
Maybe you inherited some jewelry and want to add a modern twist or turn it into a statement piece. If you haven’t considered it before, jewelry redesign might just be the option for you.
Here at Galicia Fine Jewelers, we specialize in creating one-of-a-kind jewelry that empowers the women who wear it. We’ve also worked with countless clients to help them redesign their old jewelry and create something truly unique and breathtaking.
Step One: Bring Your Piece to the Store
The first thing you’ll want to do is bring the jewelry into the store so we can take a close look at the stones and materials to get a good idea of what our designer will be working with, and what would work well to complement the existing elements.
This stage is important because older diamonds may have a different style of cut and will need to be matched properly with any stones we add to your redesigned fine jewelry. For instance, if you have diamond jewelry that is decades old, it is likely to have a single cut diamond. These cuts only have about 18 facets, whereas a modern diamond cut has 58.
Step Two: Collaboration and Design
After inspecting your jewelry, our designer will be able to offer more ideas and recommendations, as well as collaborate about your style and what you are hoping to achieve. We’ll draw up a few designs of what will become your new favorite piece of fine jewelry.
Why Redesign Jewelry?
Many people who choose to redesign jewelry have a strong emotional attachment to the jewelry and want to keep the essence of that jewelry while making it beautiful and fashionable once again. Sometime two items of emotional significance are combined to make one piece of beautiful fine jewelry that makes a statement and hold a high sentimental value.
